Hello beauties! It has been a long time since I last wrote a blog post, but life got so busy that I just did not have enough time to dedicate to blogging. I’ve been talking to some of you on Instagram in the meantime and going forwards, I will combine these two platforms, so please follow me here and there, if you’d like to be connected. And I hope you like the new blog layout? Let me know! For today, I wanted to talk about the new Chanel Neapolis Collection, which I am sure you have already seen in the counters and you might own some of these items. Let’s see how it performed for me though.
Les 9 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette Affresco
Affresco is a beautiful eyeshadow palette, featuring nine eyeshadows inspired by the colours of Naples in Italy. The whole collection was inspired by Naples, which is Lucia Picca’s home town, but, in my view, Affresco seems to represent the colours of Naples in spring really well. You have the green and blue of the sea, the volcanic greys, the earthy brown reds of its streets or smokey beige of the sand that surrounds it. I strongly recommend you have a look at the promo photos on the Chanel website – they are stunning!
The Chanel Affresco palette performs very well. The eyeshadows are well pigmented and they work together in harmony, so you can achieve not just three looks (as the palette is organised) but so many more. There is a mix of mattes and shimmers and they all blend really well and are buildable.
Chanel ombre premiere Verderame
Affresco might be the central piece of the Chanel Neapolis Collection, but there are a couple of other products that I have actually really enjoyed using even more! Starting with another eye product, the Ombre Premiere Long wear Cream Eyeshadow in Verderame! This is a creamy and strongly pigmented, almost metallic, cream eyeshadow which is so close to the deep blue green of the sea. It’s beautiful and lasts so well on my lids. It makes an excellent base but can be used on its own; it’s a gorgeous colour!
In the photo below, I am wearing Verderame in the centre of my lid. I have reviewed (or should I say praised?!) the Chanel Ombre Premiere formula here. Verederame is no exception!
Thumbs up for all of the eye products in this collection ladies! It all works very well and delivers every time I use either Verderame or the Affresco palette. Let’s speak lips and cheeks now!
chanel neapolis: Rouge Allure ink and rouge coco gloss
This collection includes quite a bit of innovation – which I love! Behold Rosso Pompeiano, a lip balm and powder colour duo.
Rosso Pompeiano is a gorgeous red – orange which on top of the lip balm has a great colour pay off and close to a creamy texture. once applied, it lasts well on me even after a meal! It leaves a beautiful stain, I wish my lips looked like that more often! This product has been criticised for not been practical and easy to use, but for me I only need to apply it once and I can enjoy its effect for at least half of the working day. It’s not drying (and I have quite dry lips) and I repeat, the stain it leaves is something like… my lips but better! Beautiful!!
Chanel has not disappointed all of us lip gloss lovers out there! There are a few new Rouge Coco glosses in this collection (including a blue tinted one – not shown here) and I got hold of two: Sibylla and Poppea. I also grabbed one of the Rouge Allure Inks – Entusiasta is a bright red with orange undertones, which I am sure to enjoy in the summer under the sun!
These are all gorgeous and I am happy with my picks. I have reviewed the Rouge Coco Gloss and its formula here. This is the first time I’ve tried a Rouge Allure Ink, and I am happy I did so! Very velvety and long-lasting. Surprisingly, non drying for a matte formula. A win!
let’s talk cheeks! Joues contraste in Foschia Rosa from the chanel neapolis collection
The only blush in the collection is a pink – coral delight! It’s so pigmented, so a little goes a long way! It blends well and lasts all day, giving me a lovely flush of colour! For those of you who don’t like scented products though, keep in mind this is heavily scented. I love its scent, but I tend to not be sensitive to scented makeup products.
I am wearing Foschia Rosa in the photo below. In fact, all of my makeup is from the Chanel Neapolis collection. On my lips I have the Rouge Coco Gloss in Poppea (looks more pink on my lips) and I’ve used the Afresco palette on my eyes.
Nail products and another makeup look
Last but not least, no Chanel Collection is completed without Le Vernis! Below I am showing you Giallo Napoli and Verde Pastello who won my heart! They are gorgeous shades both of them and I love wearing them together!
Verde Pastello leans cooler in the sun light. Indoors it can look more green. It’s such a beautiful shade fro spring!
And here is another makeup look I created using the Chanel Neapolis Collection. A green smokey eye with pink cheeks. My lipstick is the Charlotte Tilbury “The Dutchess”, which I love!
This is one of the most extensive collections launched by Chanel recently. I love every single item I picked up and especially the lip products and Verderame. Have you checked this collection out? It’s available at all Chanel counters and online here.
I am preparing some great content for you and can’t wait to share some new loves of mine in next week’s post!
Till then, hugs!
