For those that are following me on Instagram, I’ve promised a review and swatches of the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Collection this weekend and here it goes!
The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk look is the latest addition to the brand’s ten looks, following the massive success of the Pillow Talk lipstick and lip liner released last year. The packaging is in line with the rest of the brand’s quads and blushers: rose gold and crimson red, super beautiful and luxurious!
Aren’t these just “darling”? I honestly had trouble dipping my brush in there! Thumbs up on presentation, as always with Charlotte’s products. She knows how to make us feel like princesses or glamorous actresses at least!
When I bought the eyeshadow quad and blush, I knew that these shades are oh, so beautiful but probably on the lighter side of the spectrum for my tanned skin, following all that summer island hopping this year! Here go the swatches for you:
Both the Pillow Talk palette and the blush follow the same colour story: a rosy brown nude base with dreamy pink sparkles. The palette features two matte, one shimmer and one glittery rosy-pink pop shade which is just gorgeous. The blush features a rosy blush tone that gives such an etherial, healthy look to my complexion, it’s unbelievable. And a champaign rose highlighter is there to compliment the cheek look. It’s all very dreamy, very soft and I’d even go further and say romantic. And quality – wise they are both up there: soft powders, super blendable, well-lasting and pigmented enough.
The Pillow Talk Look also features her best selling lipstick, which is a sweet rosy pink (same as her lip liner/ lip cheat – not included in the photo as I’ve ran out and need to repurchase, but have reviewed here!). On me, all of these products work very well. I’m in love with the blush (it’s truly beautiful and nothing like I have in my collection), the lipstick and liner are both amazing rosy nudes and I’ve been using them non – stop. I’ll top up the lipstick with some gloss sometimes, when my lips are super dry as it’s a matte formula.
The Pillow Talk eyeshadow quad includes a very subtle shade selection. I like it, but I have to admit that I needed to build up the intensity of the smoke shade quite a bit. I’d have loved it if she had made this shade a little darker as it would probably translate better on tan skin tones without needing to build up so much.
Also, making this shade a bit darker would differentiate it even more from the other matte shade. As it is now, I feel that if I blend the edges of the smoke shade I can get the transition I need without a need to use the Enhance shade. But it is supposed to be a rosy, soft look Charlotte is proposing and that’s what the palette gives us, so it delivers on promises . I’m sure that when I lose my tan this will look just fine and if you are fair, lucky you!
Here is how the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk look is on me.
And that’s how it looks without the sparkly pop shade:
I’ve not edited the photos at all and it is taken indoors in natural, morning light. Let’s have a last look at these two beauties:
Charlotte has also launched a new concealer and powder. I will be reviewing those for you shortly, as my experience so far is mixed.
You can have a look at the products here. Are you picking up anything from this collection? Do you like that soft, rosy look?
Till next time, take care and always smile!
