Why, oh, why do I have to spot all mouth watering clothing items when my salary hasn’t come in yet? Is it the universe telling me something? Is it some sort of divine conspiracy? 😂 And then, as it happens, I get worried that my local store will run out of my size or even sell out!! How strong can a woman be? Sometimes very, but some others less so, especially when it comes to something reasonably priced. And that’s exactly what happened with that Zara skirt and open neck shirt!
I hope you can all understand my pain… would you resist this skirt if you had a pear shaped body? Unfortunately, or fortunately, I have a very typical mediterranean body shape, with a waist that’s significantly smaller than my hips. I won’t go further and mention anything about my thighs, apart from, hey, they aren’t the smallest! As such, skirts that emphasise my waistline and hide everything else down to my knee tend to be both flattering and super comfortable.
I wish that was the only thing though… then maybe I’d have resisted?! Do you see that corset there instead of a belt? Love it! I just think it gives the skirt a whole new dimension, a more feminine one. I love an elegant corset detail in clothes, even my wedding dress had a corset back. However, I’m very specific about corsets as, if they aren’t well-made, they can have the opposite effect. I thought this Zara skirt had hit the nail on the head when it came to elegance though.
Once the decision of splurging had been made, then it’s just so easy to go downhill, isn’t it? 😂 How would I wear a skirt like this? What would it combine it with? I don’t have enough tops to match it… The ones I have don’t do it justice! I almost thought I had no clothes to wear 😂😂!! And then that white shirt makes its appearance. I didn’t even try to look for it – Zara visual merchandising and in-store arrangement is just so good. This wide open collar was everything I needed to balance the outfit I had in mind. Good, item added in the basket! Oh, that sense of satisfaction!
The sleeves are so special too! I love the design of this shirt. And I enjoyed wearing the combination last weekend. Both the skirt and the shirt felt very comfortable and the material is cotton for the most part (over 90%), so it definitely feels good and soft to the touch. This is rather important for me.
Let’s have a closer look at both the skirt and shirt though:
What do you guys think? Was I not right to give in?
If you wish to check these two clothing items out, they’re both available at all UK Zara stores and on the website too. The Skirt with Sash Belt costs £25.99 and the White Open Neck Shirt with Puffy Sleeves costs £29.99. The lipstick I’m wearing is the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Scorched, part of the Naked Heat Collection. The rest of my make-up is coming up soon!
Any mini-hauls you’ve not resisted recently? Id love to know I’m not alone in that!
Have a lovely rest of the week and speak soon!
