Hello there! As you’re reading this, I will be enjoying my first year wedding anniversary with hubby! So incredible how a year went by, time just flies! It’s been a lovely year indeed though, full of glowing, happy moments. Speaking about glow, I might be late to the party here, but I recently got hold of the Becca x Chrissy Glow Face Palette and I love it so much that it’s the only cheek product I took with me for our celebratory weekend away in Brighton!

Becca x Chrissy Glow Face Palette
I’m sure you’re all familiar with Becca Cosmetics and their fabulous highlighting products or more recently, their bronzers (reviewed here). Becca often comes up with face palettes, sometimes these are in collaboration with famous bloggers and models, which is the case here. For those that aren’t familiar with Californian beauty Chrissy Teigen, she is a successful model, a mom and a cook book author. Love it how she combines it all and a big applause for this sexy mum!

Another look at the Becca x Chrissy Palette. How beautiful is it?!
Onto another beauty now; the actual palette! The packaging is beyond just beautiful. Rose gold waves dipped in cream white in what resembles a marble surface with more rose gold details all around, including the writing. It’s a gorgeous item and a real gem on my beauty table. Really well designed too, as it’s rather sturdy and generally feels well-made.

Becca x Chrissy Teigen Face Glow Palette
You open the Becca x Chrissy Palette to find two highlighters, a blush and a bronzer. Initially, I thought that the bronzer might be too dark for me, but it actually works fine now, I just apply less of it and blend. It was a good opportunity to try another shade of Becca’s Sunlit Bronzers which I love! The shade included in the Becca x Chrissy Palette is Malibu Soleil, which is one of the darkest ones in the range (please have a look at the other two shades I have here, if you’re interested). As with all Sunlit Bronzers, this has a bit of shimmer, but it’s the usual Becca quality of shimmer: it’ll give you glow while being imperceivable on your skin.

The Becca x Chrissy Teigen Face Glow Palette is primarily a highlighting product
You shouldn’t go near this palette if you only use matte products on your cheeks. Both the bronzer and the blush are shimmery. Luminous Blush in Hibiscus Bloom is a pink with a blue base, so thankfully not pale. I’m not as big on pink blush as I might be with other shades but this one is amazing! It’s got a tan quality to it, so even used on its own it’ll add glow and warmth to your complexion. It’s also a shade that will match all skin tones. Hibiscus Bloom blends like a dream and feels soft to the touch as with all powder products in this palette.

The stars of the Becca x Chrissy Palette though are the highlighters…
Indeed, the star products in the Becca x Chrissy palette are the two highlighters. I want to put them all over my face and I’ve been using them separately and together these last few days. Rose Gold Shimmering Skin Perfector is a stunning warm rosy gold while Peach Nectar is a paler golden shade. I use these as highlighters in the inner corner of my eyes, on my cheek bones and even on my décolletage. Here go the swatches:

Swatches of the Becca x Chrissy Face Glow Palette
From top to bottom we have: Luminous Blush in Hibiscus Bloom, Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Peach Nectar, Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rose Gold and next to these three swatches you can see the Sunlit Bronzer in Malibu Soleil.

Becca x Chrissy Face Glow Palette
Last but not least, this palette comes with a generously sized mirror. I don’t find it to be a chunky or heavy product, so that and the fact that it contains most cheek products I’m likely to need on a trip way makes it an excellent option for travelling.
Here is a look I achieved with the Becca x Chrissy Face Glow Palette:

With the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Face Glow Palette on my cheeks
You see how it’s defining? It adds a nice glow to the skin but doesn’t look over the top. I was initially hesitant to use all shimmer products on my cheeks, but it worked well, so I’m a happy bunny! I’ve got no lipstick in the photo and my mascara is Lancome’s Monsieur Big (one coat, reviewed here).

A last look at the Becca x Chrissy Glow Palette
You can check out this beautiful summer face palette here. It retails for 45GBP but it’ll last you for many summers ahead! This review is over at this point, but if you’re interested to read a bit about my first day in Brighton with hubby, please stay with me!
It’s amazing how I didn’t actually pack many things for this weekend away! We just went to Brighton, so still quite close to London, and I thought I’d enjoy just a couple of outfits and minimal make-up. And it was the best thing I could do as packing and unpacking literally took five minutes!
I wanted to share with you a bit of Brighton’s sea side, which I thought was absolutely stunning! Look at these wild waves and how beautifully clear the sea is:

Brighton Sea
So different for the sea in Greece, more wild and deep close to the shore, more green (when the sky is clear) or greyish (when the sky is cloudy) but equally majestic and awe-inspiring. You can tell I love the sea, don’t you? It’s a whole new world and for me my ultimate zen. We spent our first hours in this beautiful English town, discovering and enjoying the sea.
And now a moment of fashion and triumph! Despite the wind last night, I was able to wear my favourite summer dress! The small triumphs in life, when you feel like a hero because you’re ignoring the cold weather and acting like you’re in the tropics! That’s me defying the wind:
Two minutes later I had my jacket on, hehe! What a gorgeous night though. We then had dinner at a fantastic restaurant, well-known for its food fish and sea food. My sea bass was one of the freshest ever and hubby’s cod was delicious! I will share more on that soon, once I upload my photos. For now, I can’t wait to enjoy tonight!
I hope you have a lovely start to your week and I’ll speak to you soon! Let me know if you’ve tried the Becca x Chrissy Palette or what made you feel like a hero(ine) this weekend!
Hugs!

Happy anniversary, Eleni! Hope you two will have an eternity of happiness together <3.
That Becca palette is such a lovely looking one (been eyeing that myself but kept telling myself I don't need it… let's see how long until I caved 😂).
Also: loving the pics in this post!

It is indeed a gorgeous palette, I read only great reviews about this one from those who tried it. My cousin used to live in Brighton and from the pictures I see, it is an amazing place, would love to visit some day! x

Because I have the Jaclyn Hill palette, I feel they are too similar for me to justify having both. It just doesn’t excite me that much, but love the rose quartz inspired packaging. It is super pretty, thank you for sharing, it looks and sounds gorgeous x

I wanted this palette so much when it first launched but the bronzer and blush are so tiny and I find that ridiculous! I hope Becca will launch the full sizes soon. 🙁
rougenapples June 26, 2017 — Post Author
Oh for sure! The highlighters are the biggest part of the palette xx
rougenapples July 12, 2017 — Post Author
Yes, they’re smaller than the highlighters… I haven’t ever finished a bronzer or blusher, so I left this reservation behind and made a purchase. Xx

The palette is not one for me, as you probably guessed. But I love the sea and I am jealous that you live so close to it. It takes me forever to even get close to the sea from where I live, at least 8 hours by car.

Velvet Blush June 29, 2017
Congratulations on the anniversary! I’m not normally one for blush/bronzer palettes but I really like this one, as I feel like the shades are better suited to me. It must ahve been a bit chilly in Brighton, but I’m glad you enjoyed yourself 🙂 x

Nathalie June 29, 2017
Congrats on your one year anniversary! I still need to try out some of the Becca products, not a huge fan of highlighters as I feel that I look too shiny, but the palette has beautiful colors that I can see myself wearing.

Hi Nathali, if your skin is towards the oily side then you probably don’t need a highlighter. I’m combination and although I’m careful not to create too much shine, I can get away with quite a bit xx

Congratulations on your anniversary, so exciting! I love the look of this palette and have heard such good things about the Becca highlighters generally. I like versitile highlighting palettes as they’re so easy to travel with.
I love the sea so much, we live by the coast and I can’t imagine not. We got our wedding cake from Brighton but I’d love to go back there and spend more time.

I’ve always lived by the coast too Amy, but since we moved to London it’s so far away tat I appreciate these trips to the sea so much :). This palette is a great travel companion, love it with me when I’m away xx
