Hey there! It’s only Tuesday and feels like Thursday over here guys! I started a new, full-time role and I have fairly long hours (typical in London though), so keeping up with the blog means lots more planning in advance. But that’s cool, it was high time I organised myself anyway 😂. Today, I wanted to send away all of the greyness, rain and wind outside with a product which I’m loving and genuinely think that deserves your attention: the Clarins Waterproof Eye Pencil for Summer 2017!
Clarins is such a beautiful and, in my view, relatively quiet brand. It’s not as hyped as other brands much of the time, but their products are high quality indeed. I’ve been loving their lip oils (review to come up soon) and since I stopped the antibiotics for my acne, using Clarins skincare has helped my skin look better and better. I will speak about all that in future posts though. For now, let’s speak summer!
Checking out the Clarins Summer collection for 2017, I fell in love with the Waterproof Eye Pencils! There are two, limited edition shades which are magnificent both in terms of colour pay off and shade selection but also in terms of how long-lasting they are. If you like gold/ copper shades as much as I do, have a look at these.
In the picture above, you can see the copper shade. This is a real copper, slightly metallic in finish. I love this shade; it’s the darkest of the two and truly beautiful.
The Clarins Waterproof Eye Pencil in Gold isn’t your usual pale yellow gold. It’s a rich gold with hints of bronze. Gorgeous. I personally don’t have a similar shade in my collection, with the same finish, so if you can think of any please comment below.
In the swatches below, you will see how good the colour pay off is.
That’s one stroke you see above. I’ve tested both Clarins Waterproof Eye Pencils extensively and I assure you they are buildable and last all day on my lash line without migrating. You have about 30 seconds to smudge them after application, but then they set and won’t move. Inside my waterline they last less, but this doesn’t bother me in this case, as I don’t wear gold and copper shades in my waterline normally.
The Clarins Waterproof Eye Pencils are double -ended. One the one side you have the pencil whilst on the other a rounded, fairly pointy sponge for smudging. As such, expect to need a sharpener with these. Furthermore, they contain Jojoba extract which nourishes the eye area but not sure about any other benefits. They are very soft, glide wonderfully and can make an excellent eye base!
Here is a photo of me wearing the Clarins Waterproof Eye Pencils for Summer 2o17. I have Gold along my top lash line and Copper on my lid and the lower lash line. This look felt comfortable and lasted very well!
You can check out the new Clarins Waterproof Eye Pencils here. They retail for £17.50. It might be worth checking out the whole collection (you can do so here). It’s a collection for us, lovers of warm tones and I’m eyeing the bronzer! The eyeshadow palette is pretty and good quality but I have similar shades. Now, that doesn’t mean that I need another bronzer, but it’s the one item I’d pick out, alongside the Waterproof Eye Pencils, as being good quality and very pretty.
What do you think of the Clarins Waterproof Eye Pencils in general? Have you checked out Gold and Copper?
*Random British Weather Rant* (please skip if you’re not into me ranting about rain 🙂
Can you believe it it feels like November? Since last Friday the weather has been so temperamental… A few bits of sun here and there though made me happy. And then? Today happened!! I took one hour twenty to get to work and got drenched in the meantime! London tube was as busy as ever and so slippery and muddy everywhere. On my way back home, the winds were so strong that I felt like a feather blown around (and I ain’t that thin)! I pray to the Gods of good weather to take away November and give us back our June. It’s so hard (and stylistically wrong) to wear wool and boots on June 6th! Plus, it’s very unfair that an hour on the plane, people are sunbathing. I hope justice is restored soon and universe sets its priorities right again!

Hope you have a great and sunny rest of the week. Speak to you soon!
