Hello there! I hope you all had a great weekend and a happy Mother’s Day! I don’t get to spend Mother’s Day with my mum every year, since we are based in separate countries, so being home was a real treat this time. We bought some amazing flowers and also met with friends; it was all good fun! As I was celebrating this day in Greece, hubby kindly agreed to help me with a small Chanel haul, since the Cruise Collection has now officially launched in the U.K. Here go some swatches of most products in the Chanel Summer 2017 Cruise Collection and my initial thoughts on my picks!
If you recall, around a month ago, Chanel launched some new Les Beiges products, including the brand new Gel Touch Glow Foundation (reviewed here). Les Beiges was all about that base, in my view. I feel that the Chanel Summer 2017 Cruise Collection came to add colour to that base. And it’s doing so in the most wonderful way: with a carefully curated selection of products that combined together, give us all elegance and definition we need in the summer months, without compromising on ease and simplicity! I couldn’t but sign up for that, ladies. I’m an incurable Chanel addict after all.
Starting from the eye products, you will notice that there is no Eyeshadow Quad in the Cruise Collection. Instead, there are two eye Stylos: Terra Rosa and Horizon. The first one is a plum brown while the second one is a dark green.
I would totally use these all over my lid and skip eyeshadow altogether. Lovely shades. To add to these, there are two limited edition Inimitable Waterproof mascaras in similar shades:
Moving onto lips, the Chanel Cruise Collection features three Rouge Coco Stylos. These provide pigmented colour but are moisturising, so expect a shiny finish.
If you prefer sometching more sheer, there are two Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks too. Here go the swatches:
For cheeks, there are three Les Beiges Glow Sticks. These contain some shimmer which I don’t find disturbing but I skip highlighter when I wear them. I’ve swatched two for you:
The star of this collection, however, is the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Colour. This is a luminous powder, that, according to Chanel, can be used as a highlighter or bronzer, depending on the shade you pick. It seems a bit too luminous to me, so I’m not sure I’d love it as a bronzer. I’m, anyway, sorted for bronzers this summer and loving my Guerlain one, so could easily skip this one. The way it glows on hubby’s hand, it’s my impression that it would make a better highlighter though (in a lighter shade). It also looks quite orange, which I’m, again, unsure about.
Lovers of nail varnish, you will not be disappointed! The Chanel Cruise Collection, features four amazing looking shades which are right up my street. I have two out of the four to show you today.
You can have a look at the US site for the actual products and, for the time being, us that live in the UK can swatch the collection at the Chanel Boutique in Covent Garden in London. I can’t wait to try all this when I’m back! As I haven’t seen the products myself, this is not a review, but I hope the swatches are helpful. I’m going to be testing all products beginning of June, so not sure if that might be late for a review? Let me know if you’d like one though and I can always add to this post.
Hope you all have a great start to your week and I’ll speak to you soon!
