Hello again everyone! When one makes a promise they should always keep it, right? In my previous post, I reviewed the new Bobbi Brown Glow Stick and promised that I would introduce the whole Bobbi Brown Follow The Sun Collection, so you can have a look at the other items too. And here I am doing so! In this post you will find swatches of the entire collection, my thoughts on it and a review of the Illuminating Bronzing Powder.
Bobbi Brown Follow The Sun Collection Swatches
As you can see in the photo above, this is an extensive collection which exclusively features products that give your skin that glow. We have:
- The new Bobbi Brown Glow Stick in nine different shades for different effects and skin tones. I’ve swatched and reviewed the Glow Stick for you here. This is the star product of this collection and joining the permanent line.
- The Bobbi Brown Eye Gloss. The Follow The Sun Eye Gloss comes in three shades. It’s basically a liquid eyeshadow which gives you a glossy lid effect. I, personally, lead a busy life and need longevity from my eyeshadows, so skipped this product for this reason. However, I bet it’d be cool, if you want to use it for a photo shoot or you don’t care about how long your eyeshadow lasts, but want that glossy effect. Here go the watches of the three Eye Gloss shades, from left to right: Beach Nude, Nude and Island Pink.
- A new Follow the Sun Lip Gloss in shade Rosy. In my local Bobbi Brown counter they were suggesting another two shades. In the photo below, from left to right we have: Rosy, Citrus 4 and Bare Sparkle. The last two shades contain shimmer whilst the limited edition Rosy gives your lips a juicy peachy red colour.
- The Bobbi Brown Follow The Sun Illuminating Bronzing Powder in three beautiful shades! In the picture below, from left to right we have: Antigua, Maui and Santa Barbara. These aren’t new shades but are limited edition in this packaging.
bobbi brown follow the sun illuminating bronzing powder review
We’ve definitely seen these shades before. They’re re-promotes and limited edition in this packaging. I’ve always wanted to check out Antigua, but as it turned out, I was more attracted to Santa Barbara which is more peachy and less pink. Santa Barbara has a bit of shimmer though, which I don’t mind as it’s barely visible on my skin.
The Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder is meant to be used as a bronzer or blush. You can dust it lightly where the sun naturally heats your face for a warm, bronzy glow and a bit of colour. Santa Barbara is a coral and it brightens my skin as well as adding that sun kissed warmth. It pairs well with the Glow Stick, in that it helps it set (otherwise I find that the stick doesn’t really set). Here is a look where I have Santa Barbara on my cheeks, on top of the BB Glow stick in Beach Babe:
I hope you can see the brightening/ warming effect I mentioned before. I’m very happy with my Illuminating Bronzing Powder, as it’s incredibly pigmented and blends like a dream. I’m sure I will make so much more use of it when I have a bit more colour on me, so cannot wait for this summer tan! As for the rest of my make-up above, I’m wearing the Urban Decay Basquiat Eyeshadow Palette in Gold Griot (reviewed here) and the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion (reviewed here) in Medium.
The Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder costs £30 for 30grs and can be checked out here or swatched at your local BB counter along with the rest of the collection.
final thoughts on the bobbi brown follow the sun collection
A massive thumps up for the Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder! The rest of the collection isn’t calling my name unfortunately, and that’s a shame because I had high hopes for the Glow Stick. The entire collection is available here, if you’re interested.
Any thoughts on the Follow The Sun collection? Are you eyeing any of these items?
Thank you for reading, have a glorious weekend and I’ll speak to you soon!
