The new Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss, Moisturising Glossimer provides beautiful colour in one swipe!

Hello my lovelies! Hope you all had a great weekend? I certainly did and managed to squeeze in some cooking too, which is nice. I made a yummy greek spinach pie! It’s truly hard to explain how tasty this pie turned out to be… *modesty, Eleni!*. Ok, not praising my cooking skills any longer and moving onto one of the most beautiful new launches this year: the Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss. The series has been revamped and it’s now much more than a simple gloss, as it’s won a place in both my heart and my vanity table *winks*! Seriously, the new Coco Gloss is a delight to use!

If you invest in the new Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss and you’re familiar with its predecessor, the Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer, the first thing you’re likely to notice is how the applicator has changed! This is actually an important change as the new, angled applicator, takes gloss application to another level. It’s fast, easy and more importantly, precise! With a small hollow inside, it grabs and spoons just the right amount of product. Thus, we can now apply the darkest shades with great precision, in just one stroke.

Besides packaging-related changes, the new Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss provides a claimed 43% more hydration than the prior formula. It contains nourishing ingredients, such as jojoba, coconut extracts as well as vitamin E, leaving lips soft. This is a great combination for my dry lips, as it takes care of them whilst not feeling sticky at all.

To add to that, many of the shades are highly pigmented which is always a win. Shades starting with number 7 have been released previously as summer shades, while shades starting with number 1 are part of the permanent line. They may have a different name to the one they had before though, so I would advise you to check number rather than names of shades to avoid any duplication with what you might already own.

There are 26 shades to chose from and you can opt for a variety of finishes, from very pigmented and intense to softer, iridescent ones. My picks were Bourgeoise (119, previously named Wild Rose) and Opulence (754). The first one is a dusty mauve of medium pigmentation and the second a beautiful intense red.

I hope the swatches are helpful for you! The reds and darker pinks are so pigmented that they will not disappoint you. Staying power is also very good. Opulence left a stain on me when I wore it and I love myself a good red stain after a meal! You’ve seen me wearing Opulence here (this photo was taken an hour after application more or less):

All information provided above was as the product was described to me by the Chanel make-up artists in the Covent Garden Boutique. It all looks glossy, glossy inside these days, you know:

There is a very dark shade (almost transparent black) which you can see at the left of the picture. This one is a top coat which can make other shades darker. There is a golden top coat too, but it was sold out on the day I visited my Chanel counter.

I hope you found this useful. I’m not a gloss fan normally, I only go for the ones that are reputed to be non-sticky and very pigmented (Nars normally fits that description). I tried the old Chanel gloss formula and it wasn’t for me, in all honesty, hence I never purchased any. But the new Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss is a favourite of mine already. I love it and stands out from other similar offerings in the market.

The Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss, Moisturising Glossimer retails for £26 and you can buy it at your local Chanel counter or online here. Linda @Silverkis has got a great review here, in case you wish to get a second view on these.

Sending you many wishes for a wonderful week, starting tomorrow and speak soon!

Hugs!

Eleni x

I am not a huge fun of glosses either since I don’t like the sticky feeling on the lips but these look exceptional. Opulence looks amazing on you and it’s great that it leaves a stain after a few hours. I love the swatches at the back of your hand, it would be too difficult for me to choose one from these lovely shades!! xx

Hi Eleni, wow that red looks so pigmented on your lips! I really do find these more hydrating than the older ones… thank you for all the wonderful information in your post – i didn’t realize they had switched the names around on some of them!

Hi Linda! Oh, I find the reds to be quite pigmented which is amazing! About the name change, I hadn’t realised either until the make-up artists pointed that out! xx

Thanks for the review, Eleni! Tbh I’m not a fan of glosses either. More because it’s sticking on my hair onto my glasses… and it’s not kiss-safe :D. I do find them super useful for a quick dinner party touchups though.
    I’m somehow eye-ing confusion from this line-up!

Hi Astrid! I tried Confusion and it’s nice but once of the sheerer ones. It depends on the pigmentation of your lips of course, but the colour shows through less than it does with others. Saying that, it’s a nice spring shade!

Those are some very pigmented gloss! I generally am not a fan of glosses because of its texture but these sounds really lovely.
