Happy Spring everyone! We’re now officially in spring and it feels *SO* good. This was the longest winter ever, so I can’t wait to absorb as much sun as I can the coming months. To start spring with one of the most beautiful and versatile eyeshadow palettes I have, let’s speak about the Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Palette About Last Night Style Eye-Con No.20! This is a beautiful eyeshadow palette, not only in terms of appearance and exquisite packaging but also in terms of quality!
To start with, the Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Palette About Last Night Style Eye-Con No.20 (aka Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Palette About Last Night) is a beauty to look at and to hold. It’s a sizeable palette, as it contains 20 new eyeshadows in there but still looks and feels sleek. The golden lid hides a massive mirror inside which I find super handy! Admittedly this is not your everyday palette that you’ll pop in your make-up bag due to its size. However, it is a great palette to take with, if you’re travelling or you’re on holiday. You won’t need to take any other eyeshadow products if you have that one with because it’s so versatile! Beauty and practicality combined together, fantastic!
The Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Palette About Last Night is designed to be “read” vertically. You get 5 columns of 4 eyeshadows and each column gives you a unique look. According to the description that comes with it, you have two day looks, one golden look and two night time looks, but honestly you can mix and match as your heart desires. There are light, medium and dark matte shades and shimmers too. You can even use fewer of the eyeshadows in each column to create a nice look. And, frankly, some of the shimmers can be worn just on their own for a wash of colour. Feel free to play around!
These shades are all brand new. Not only are they exclusive to this palette but they feature a new formula that allows them to stay true to colour and last longer as well. To add to that, Marc’s new formula ensure maximum colour pay off – these eyeshadows are incredibly pigmented! A little bit goes a long way and if you dip your finger in there you’ll realise how finely milled and buttery soft they are. Superb quality.
Let’s have a look at the swatches column by column, starting from left to right.
Along with the palette comes a manual which gives you some ideas for different eye looks, with different intensity and for a variety of contexts.
I’ve created many looks since I was given this palette (yes, I was lucky to receive it as a present!) and here are just a couple I made last weekend. The first look was my day time one and then I dialled it up for the evening.
Here’ s a look I wore on a night out – using the eyeshadows from Column 3 and a bit from column 2 at the inner corner:
Using the Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Palette About Last Night is such fun and so easy that I’m sure you will love it. In the UK, you can get this palette at John Lewis or Harrods for £76; it doesn’t come cheap but it’s not bad for the amount of product and the quality you get.
Have you tried any Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Palettes? If so, which ones would you recommend I try next? 😉
Hope you’re all well and see you soon!
