Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In a Palette, Seductive Beauty

Happy Monday! New week and a bit of sunshine in London! Hope you all started this week with energy. March is such a beautiful month, isn’t it? More light means the world to me, and we are slowly getting there :). To start off the week with one of my favourite products, I will speak to you about a palette that was released before Christmas but is, thankfully, still available for a few more weeks: the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In a Palette, Seductive Beauty. This is a Limited Edition palette which you can get hold of online and in selected Charlotte Tilbury counters, until sold out. Let me show you why I like it so much!

Charlotte Tilbury INstant Look in a Palette, overview and packaging

To start with, let me tell you that the whole craze about this type of palette started when Charlotte released the original Instant Look in a Palette, more or less a couple of years ago. The criticism back then was that the colour selection did not show on medium to deeper skin tones. However, there were many who loved the idea of a palette that contains your eye, cheek and face products in one place, as it’s super practical.

And what can Charlotte do, but listen to her market! As such, she made two Limited Edition palettes: the Instant Look In a Palette Natural Beauty, which contains shades for lighter to medium skin tones (unless you’re darker and want to go super natural) and the Instant Look In a Palette Seductive Beauty, which is more suited to medium to deeper skin tones and everyone with a lighter skin tone that’s looking for more impact. This is the one I’ve opted for and I’m so happy I did so!

As the name of the product implies, this is a portable palette that contains all you need for a complete look when you’re on the go, without much effort. It has three eyeshadows, two blushes and a bronzer and highlighter, all housed in an elegant, crimson-red, impressively slim palette. I’m a huge fan of the packaging and although you won’t be able to fit this palette in a small beauty case, you will be absolutely fine with a medium one. I’ve been carrying it with me and it’s durable as well as very light. To add to that, it’s a pleasure to hold and I really like the good sized mirror.

As you can see in the photos, you can find three eyeshadows at the top of the palette. These are in line with Charlotte’s technique as presented in her eyeshadow quads. You get a light base and highlighting shade, a mid-tone enhancing shade for your day looks or to use as a transition shade and a darker, smoke shade. No glitter shade is included in this palette, so that’s different from the quads (I’ve spoken about their structure and reviewed UpTown Girl here).

The eyeshadows are once again top quality and I’ve raved enough in the past about Charlotte’s Prime shades! I’m also in love with the Enhance shade here, such a beautiful shimmery grey taupe. With these eyeshadows you can achieve a soft, natural eye look or a stronger, earthly-toned smokey eye.

Moving on from the eyes the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In a Palette, Seductive Beauty, includes a swiss ‘n’ pop cheek blush combo in a universally flattering rose tone. The lighter shade is supposed to go on your cheek and the darker on the apples of your cheek, as you blend backwards. To add to that, the famous Filmstar Bronze and Glow Bronzer-Highlighter duo is also included. This is an excellent bronzer that you can use as a contour as well. As for the highlighter, it’s fantastic. If you haven’t tried this highlighter, I think you should at least check it out. It’s gorgeous!

As all products in this palette are high quality, there’s not much to complain about really. The powders are buttery soft and the shades selected are beautiful, provided a natural look is what you’re after. Here’s a look I created with the palette, starting with the eyes:

As far as I’m concerned, I love palettes like this one. It lasted on me all day and looked elegant while enhancing my natural features. Thumbs up from me and I hope it becomes permanent. By the way, for those of you that might be interested, this is a look you could wear with your glasses because it’s very highlighty- here’s me during work:

The Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In a Palette Seductive Beauty retails for £49, which is a very good price for what it includes and its quality. You get now get it as an online exclusive here, but might be worth you giving your local CT counter a call to check if they still have any in stock.

What are your thoughts on palettes that promise to contain all you need for a complete look? This is a win for me, but doesn’t include brushes, for example. Is that important for you?

Have a lovely week and speak to you soon!

Hugs!

Eleni

  1. It’s such a pretty and handy palette! I would love to try the Natural Beauty one. I’m all for palettes that have eyeshadows & blush in them. I actually don’t own any but if I could get my hands on this I know I would love it. And you created such a nice look with this!

  3. I have never tried anything from CT (yet)!!
I know, what kind of makeup addict am I??! (ok, I’m broke :P) Your review makes me want to get this palette so much, You look lovely in these pictures ♥. I am not really a fan of this combination palettes, because I like to complicate my life with “diversity and choice”, LOL, but I must admit they are definitely practical. You don’t have to think too much before creating your look, which is a huge time saver.

    1. Funny thing is I totally agree with you and very rarely do I buy such palettes. But when I tried this one, I loved the shades in there! Sometimes I’ll just use the eyeshadows and combine with other products, other times I’ll do the whole look, depends on how much time I have. CT does some very good products, I’m a fan of her line, although there are a few funny ones in there too. Thank you for popping by, glad you liked the look 🙂

  4. Very nice! Highlighty looks do seem to get on better with glasses. Palettes are great but it’s hard for me to find one with blushes that are flattering. I have very pink/red tones on my face and in my foundation, so most pink blushes look terribly flushed. Eyeshadow palettes are wonderfully convenient and fun, though. Lack of brushes doesn’t bother me at all, as I always use my own brushes or fingers!

    1. Exactly – I always use my own tools to apply makeup, so I don’t mind either! To add to that, most brushes that come with palettes aren’t that brilliant, so I prefer a bit more product or a lighter palette instead. A good highlighty look does go well with glasses for sure, especially around the eyes and even more so, if your glasses make your eyes look a little smaller. It opens up the face, methinks. xx
