Korres Guava Body Butter and Coconut Guava Anti-ageing Body Oil (live form Athens!)

Hello guys! And Happy Carnival, for those of you celebrating in Greece! It’s a long weekend here and we celebrate the end of Carnival and the start of Lent next week. I have a very special post for today, featuring one of my favourite brands, which happens to also have Greek roots. Double win! I’m sure you’ve all heard about Korres products, especially if you’re fans of natural cosmetics and skincare products in general. First, I’d like to briefly speak to you about the brand and then, I’d like to specifically review the Korres Guava Body Butter and the Coconut Guava Anti-ageing Body Oil.

Korres was established in 1996 by Giorgos Korres. He and Lena Korres developed the brand and its offerings from their roots. Korres was a graduate of the Pharmacy School at the University of Athens and he also worked as a chemist, with a particular focus and interest in homeopathic medicines and cures via natural ingredients and herbs. And this is the ethos that penetrates the brand till today. Effective products, with natural ingredients that are 100% safe to use. Korres skincare products consist of the highest quality ingredients and tons of research, study and pharmaceutical expertise has gone into each one of them. Many of the ingredients originate from Greece, such as the Santorini vine series of products. For more information on the brand heritage, have a look at the official website page here.

korres guava body Butter

Korres currently offer four different Body Butters and I have to admit, the Guava Body Butter stands out! It smells divine! At this point, I should say that I love sweet fruity smells. if you’re like me, then you will not just love, but you’ll adore this Body Butter that will definitely please your nostrils like no other. It’s that good. Leaving smell aside, this product leaves my skin soft. The results are obvious immediately when the product absorbs into the skin and they last for a long time (48 hours on me till I next use this product after a shower).

If I can say one thing, is that I wish this product would absorb a little faster. It absorbs pretty fast for a body butter, but I like particularly fast absorbing products. Saying that, once you apply it, you can get dressed normally and it won’t transfer, which means it’s a great product to use even when you’re in a rush.

For more information on how good this product can be for your skin, have a look here.

korres coconut – guava body oil

Using Korres Coconut- Guava Body Oil can only give you smooth, soft skin. Used over time, the results are longer-term as its antioxidants improve the skin’s elasticity. It’s a beautiful dry oil which absorbs very fast (yay!) and it’s enriched with shea butter and almond oil for that bit of extra hydration. It smells lovely but not as lovely as the Guava Body Butter. It’s less fruity, more of an oil in its smell. What I love doing is applying the oil first and then a bit of body butter on top of it. This gives me super soft skin and long – lasting hydration. And, guys, have a look t the ingredients below… as it says on the bottle, it’s 99.3% natural:

I love Korres products. I like how pure they are and the simple packaging means they aren’t expensive. The Body butter above is retails at 15.90 Euros online but I bought it for around 11 Euros in the Korres store. The Body Oil is around 18 Euros.

In the UK, you can get Korres products at FeeluniqueLiberty, Marks&Spencer and I have seen a few at John Lewis and Oliver Bonas. I wish they had a stand-alone shop! Here is their beautifully decorated store in Athens (Ermou Street):

And as we are in Athens, in my beloved Ermou Street (which was my go to place for shopping as a student, so has a special place in my heart), shall we go a bit further? I call this review done at this point and I’ll take you for a walk in Athens!

“my” city <3

If you like, I can do a special travel post dedicated to Athens as a city next time I’m around. There is so much to do and see, but more importantly, there’s so much to experience and live. For now, just a quick walk in Ermou Street, one of the main shopping Streets in central Athens. Please read the comments underneath the photos for more detail on what you can find around Ermou Street too.

On the one end of Ermou Street, you can find the Greek Parliament and Syntagma Square. You can even see it in the distance as you go up the street

Laterna in Athens Greece

A Laterna Player in central Athens. This is a VERY traditional thing for us… Laterna is a big, portable music box (you can see him standing on it) which in the 1940s and 1950s they’d take around villages and towns in Greece and play music though it. This is considered to be very romantic here and respect to anyone who is still keeping this tradition alive 🙂

The Acropolis in Athens Greece

If you go down Ermou Street and turn right, you will find Monastiraki. And there you can see The Acropolis

Ok guys! I hope you enjoyed this small tour :).  Have you ever been tried any Korres products? For that matter, have you ever been to Athens?

Have a great rest of the weekend and Γειά σας!

I don’t think I have ever tried Korres products, but of course I have heard about them. But the last time I was in Greece I wasn’t as much into beauty as I am now (read I didn’t blog back then), so I didn’t take the opportunity to stock up. Thank you for sharing your tips on Athens, makes me want to go back soon.

I’ve seen the brand grow and love the direction they’re taking. When is it you were last in Athens? Let me know if you need any tips on places to go, whenever you decide to come back. Happy to help 😊. Have a lovely week!

I haven’t tried very many things from Korres but everything was really great quality. I definitely want to discover more from the brand.

I want to try the face creams and they have a new elixir that sounds really good. It is supposed to adjust to your skin’s needs, so a bit more than a serum (how it was described to me). Have a great week!
