Hello my lovelies!
How are you? Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday. I LOVE Saturdays (I mean, who doesn’t?). Actually, my favourite part of the week is from Thursday around 6pm till Monday around 10pm. Why? Simply because on a Thursday, once the working day finishes, we are so close to the weekend and Monday at 10pm because this is when I get ready for the “hardest” days of the week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday till 6pm ;). That’s Eleni’s weekly philosophy!
On to a couple of very interesting products, now, that Dior released and all ladies with dry lips should consider taking a look at. I laid my paws on the Dior Addict Lip Glow Colour Reviver Lip Balm in Pink and the Dior Addict Lip Glow Sugar Scrub in Universal Pink. They both retail at £24. These names are longer than trains, so allow me to call DA (for Dior Addict) Lip Balm the former and DA Sugar Scrub the latter.
The DA Lip Balm was released in January in three amazing shades: pink, coral and lilac, with the lilac being limited edition. I would strongly recommend you check out the Lilac as it is beautiful and can suit most complexions. It’s a sweet mauve-lilac colour, very soft and generally I loved it when I tried it. I opted for the pink because I, personally, do not seek colour from a lip balm. My lips are very dry and a lot of the time I use lip balm under lipstick, especially with matt lipstick formulations. I therefore thought pink to be the most sensible shade to get hold of as it doesn’t really add any pink colour to my lips. Essentially, it does what is it marketed to do: enhance my natural lip colour, give it some glow and, if I layer it, you might get a hint of tint.
Colour aside, I am more interested in how this helps my very dry lips. After a bit of testing, I can happily report that it is a very good lip balm! It feels light on the lips and it is not sticky at all, while, at the same time, it nourishes my dry lips and softens them. While this product is on, I feel that I am giving them TLC in the best possible way. It is great that you can use this straight from the bullet, therefore take it with you everywhere and reapply as needed.
I will repeat this: my lips are *exceptionally* dry. Therefore, this product alone helps, but does not solve my problem for a long time. If I eat or drink even a little, ten minutes later dryness comes back. However, I found that using the DA Sugar Scrub underneath helps keep my lips hydrated much longer.
I am a massive fan of this lip scrub. It contains sugar which literally melts into lips and is completely invisible. It is very nourishing and even when I use it on its own my lips feels at their best in terms of hydration. I apply the DA Lip Balm on top and I am good. I need to apply 3 times a day for hydrated lips all day long, but this is very good for me! The DA Lip Scrub gives a pink tint to my lips but looks very natural. It’s more coloured, I find, than the balm, but definitely lives up to its name of “universal pink”. Here is a photo of me wearing both products on my lips, you can see the effect is very soft:
My all time favourite balm is the Bobbi Brown Lip Balm SPF 15, but I don’t find this as portable and I have to use my fingers to apply it, so I prefer to use it before I go to bed or first thing in the morning. The Dior balm and scrub are amazingly portable though and I feel they are truly beneficial for my lips, so they’ve found their own place in my make up bag, especially when I’m on the go.
Do check them out and let me know your thoughts! What is your favourite lip balm?
Enjoy your weekend and I look forward to speak to you soon again! Always smile!
